A Bit About Me
I was born and raised in Windsor. I attended local High school and received a B.Comm from the University of Windsor before becoming a Chartered Accountant. My professional career has taken me from sole practitioner, to controller of multi million dollar companies, to recently accounting for clients across the United States via the clouds.
I have attended the Shaar Hashomayim synagogue all my life. I graduated from their Hebrew School, at different points was President of the Junior Congregation, led services in the T’filin Club, etc. I have twice been President of the local B’nai Brith Lodge, held virtually every position on the synagogue Board of directors and am currently for the last approximately 20 years been the Gabbai. I am chairman of the cemetery committee and act as the operations manager for the cemetery. As well, for at least 45 years have been one of the funeral directors for the local Jewish community as we do not have a Jewish funeral home with staff. At various times when the synagogue did not have or could not afford professionals, I have been Chazzan Shenei and Baal T’kiyah. I also make breakfast for the minyan to encourage others to come out every Sunday morning.
Through all this, my family has grown to include all those listed above and I cherish each moment I get to share with all of them.
Approximately five years ago I was informed that my kidneys were failing and I would need a transplant at some time in the future. Fortunately I remained stable for a year or more as we did the necessary testing but as of a few months ago, I have been on peritoneal dialysis as my condition changed negatively. I am now hoping to find a generous soul who will help me extend my life, my love of my family and my devotion to our community.
