A Bit About Me

I am an Ashkenazi woman who grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba.  As a child of holocaust survivors, I was raised in a loving family where Jewish identity and culture were valued and celebrated.  I have continued this legacy with my husband, raising our now 29-year-old son with Jewish tradition.  Professionally, I am a Psychologist who has had the privilege of helping many others understand and improve their daily lives.  I have also enjoyed many years of volunteering, primarily for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. My kidney deterioration is a direct result of life-sustaining medications that I once needed to treat Leukemia, a blood cancer diagnosed in 2007.  Treatment was successful and I have been cancer free for 15 years.  However, the damage to my kidneys was severe and my kidney function has reached urgent levels.  Dialysis is expected to begin in the next few months.  I have so much living left to do and I ask you, from the bottom of my heart, to consider kidney donation.  I long to return to a fuller clinical practice, resume volunteering and, of course, watch my son wed and raise his children in the Jewish way of life.
