A Bit About Me

I’m a 24-year-old psychology graduate student - or at least, I was almost there when life unexpectedly changed course. I was in the final semester of my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology when I became critically ill with septic shock. The illness caused severe acute kidney failure, and I’ve been on dialysis while working toward recovery and, hopefully, a kidney transplant.

This has been an incredibly difficult chapter, but it has also shown me how much strength, resilience, and love can exist in the hardest circumstances. I’m still working toward getting my health and independence back, and I’m determined to eventually finish what I started with my degree and continue building the life I had imagined for myself. I’m looking for a living kidney donor who might be willing to give me the chance to move forward. More than anything, I want to get back to being a 24-year-old who can study, make plans, laugh with the people I love, and experience all the ordinary things I once took for granted.
