Ralph Blasbalg

A Bit About Me

My name is Raphael Eli Blasbalg. I was born in Haifa Palestine, now
Israel.
Our family moved to Canada in November 1952 and settled in Montreal.
I was educated in Montreal where I met my future wife Gina. We have
had a remarkable friendship and we are joyfully married for sixty three
years, and raised a harmonious family with our four wonderful children.
All are married and my wife Gina and I schep nachus from our nine
grandchildren.
We are shomer Shabbat and have erev Shabbat dinners together most
times. My life to date has been blessed. But in fact, my wife is the
engine of my health, she calms, mentors and humours me daily.
My favourite time is spent writing poems and short stories, I also enjoy
exercising weekly at the gym. We both walk and talk and on weekends
we assemble a group of seniors at our house to preserve the art of
shmoosing which no longer is practiced in this digital day.
Gina and I are reluctant seniors. We are active in our community and we
intend to continue our work until we get old
