A Bit About Me
Born in Dublin, I am a third-generation Irish Jew.
I came to Canada after university and worked for many years as a journalist here and in Europe. I left journalism to become the first director of government relations for B’Nai Brith Canada.
I have been married to Trudy Shecter for the past six years.
I have two children; my son is 36 and my daughter 31. Neither is married, but my daughter will be married next Spring.
During Covid, I bought a bridge club. Playing, teaching and officiating bridge has been a passion for many years. My club boasts about 400 tables online each month and about 175 tables in our face-to-face games at Temple Sinai.
I also write a newsletter each week which goes out to about 2800 people.
I have been on dialysis since April 2025 and am hopeful that I may get a kidney transplant in the near future.
