I’m a 61‑year‑old single dad to an amazing 10‑year‑old, and I’ve spent my life working to make the world a little better, from serving in the Peace Corps in Uzbekistan to advocating for human rights, drug policy reform, and anti‑racism education in Canada. I’ve lived many lives: motorcycle traveler, backpacker, environmental studies graduate, lawyer, nonprofit leader, and now a designer of cultural safety programs for First Nations. My greatest joy today is time with my son and our dog, Luna, on our off‑grid yurt in the Gulf Islands. I’ve lived with kidney disease since childhood due to Autosomal Recessive Alport Syndrome, and despite staying active and healthy, I’m now in Stage 5 and hoping to find a living donor. A previous donor match fell through, and I’m doing everything I can to avoid dialysis and stay present for my son.
